The Regional Algae Initiative organized a cross-disciplinary group of stakeholders from across the San Diego and Imperial Valley region in addition to representation from the Coachella Valley and Northern Baja California. An initial meeting was help in the Summer of 2008 and a second meeting in Spring 2009. The stakeholders were tasked with identifying a prudent algae economic development and commercialization road map and a corresponding set of action steps.
